The superior nasal concha is situated posterosuperiorly to themiddle nasal concha. It forms the superior boundary of thesuperior nasal meatus. Superior to the superior nasal concha is thesphenoethmoidal recess where thesphenoid sinus communicates with thenasal cavity; thesphenoethmoidal recess is interposed between the superior nasal concha, and (the anterior aspect of) thebody of sphenoid bone.[1]: 692  Thesphenoid sinus ostium exists medial to the superior turbinate.[2]
