Sonya Elisabet Hedenbratt Bolin (4 March 1931 – 5 April 2001) was a Swedish singer and actress. She was considered one of the foremost female jazz singers in Sweden.[1]
Hedenbratt's breakthrough as a jazz singer came when she performed at theNalen jazz club in Stockholm in 1951. Throughout her career, she mainly worked inGothenburg, where she was born and where she lived all her life.[2]
She was part of the cast for several ofHasse & Tage's variety shows, includingGröna hund andGula Hund, and she also worked with musicians such asJan Johansson,[1]Gösta Bernhard,Putte Wickman,Charlie Norman andBeppe Wolgers.[3]
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Hedenbratt performed together withSten-Åke Cederhök in the televised popular revues (buskis)Jubel i busken andLåt hjärtat va me.[1][2]
Hedenbratt's other credits as an actress include Hasse & Tage'sSvenska bilder from 1964,Ingmar Bergman'sFanny and Alexander from 1982 (where she played the part of Aunt Emma),[2] and the TV production ofMy Mother Gets Married byMoa Martinson.[3]
Hedenbratt has been honoured with a memorial plaque atLiseberg,[2] and a street inÖrgryte has been named after her.[4]
