Sodium metatitanate is achemical compound with thechemical formulaNa2TiO3. This compound decomposes with treatment with hot water.[2] The name sodium metatitanate also incorrectly refers to the compoundsodium trititanate (Na2Ti3O7).
Sodium metatitanate can be produced by heatingtitanium dioxide andsodium carbonate at 1000 °C:[3]
