Smulpaj (crumb pie) is aSwedishdessert. It differs from traditional pies in that it has nopastry shell; instead, fillings are added directly to the pie dish after greasing.Butter is mixed withsugar,wheat flour andoatmeal to make a crumbly dough[1] that is strewn over the fillings. This is then baked as the crust.

Smulpaj is commonly made with apples,rhubarb, orbilberries, and served withwhipped cream, vanilla custard, orice cream.
