TheSingapore Cycling Federation (SCF) (formerly theSingapore Amateur Cycling Association (SACA)) is the governing body for the sport ofcycling inSingapore.
The Singapore Amateur Cycling Association (SACA) was established on 21 January 1958 as a society and was registered under the Charities Act. In 2011, it underwent a name change to the Singapore Cycling Federation to reflect a new image and objectives of the cycling fraternity to be more than just amateurs.
The SCF is recognised bySport Singapore as the national governing body for the promotion and development of the sport of cycling. It is affiliated to theSingapore National Olympic Council, theASEAN Cycling Association, theAsian Cycling Confederation, and theUnion Cycliste Internationale.
On 3 Dec 2018, the SCF received the Charity Transparency Awards 2018 from the Charity Council.[1]
On 4 Aug 2021, the SCF collaborated with the Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) to announce the setting up of a cycling esports academy. This is to promote the development of cycling esports in Singapore, and had its first demonstration cycling esports race on 7 Aug 2021.[2]
Dr Hing Siong Chen, a member of the Singapore National Olympic Council’s (SNOC) Executive Committee and President of the Singapore Cycling Federation, will lead Team Singapore as chef de mission at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia in May 2023. Dr Hing is a Family Physician fully registered with the Singapore Medical Council, with over 25 years of experience in General Practice with Healthway Medical Group.
The SCF is governed by a Constitution which was presented and approved at the Extraordinary Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 14 Aug 2021 and approved by the Registry of Society on 14 Sep 2021.
theBricks BMX Pump Track & Bicycle Park:SCF launched the new bike park in collaboration with People's Association & SportSG on 16 April 2023, to be built in Brickland constituency of Choa Chu Kang GRC. It is expected to be ready in 2025, and will be co-located with the Brickland's Sports-in-Precinct project.
This will be the only BMX pump track of its class in Singapore after the previous one in Tampines was demolished.[4]
