Sinamiidae is anextinctfamily ofray-finned fish.[2] They arehalecomorph fishes endemic to EarlyCretaceous freshwater environments in East and Southeast Asia.
Along withAmiidae, it is one of two families that makes up the superfamilyAmioidea.[1] The two are distinguished by the shape of their scales.[3] Some authors treat them as a subfamily, the Sinamiinae, within the Amiidae as the closest relatives of the modern subfamily Amiinae.[4]
