Silvia Díaz Acosta (born 1987) is aChilean politician who served as politicianminister of science, technology, knowledge and innovation.
She studied at the Colegio Santa María inOvalle between the 3rd grade ofelementary school until she graduated from high school.[4]
She has adoctorate inChemistry from thePontifical Catholic University of Chile, graduated in 2015.[5] Between 2018 and 2022 she served as deputy director and scientific director of the Fundación Encuentros del Futuro, entity in charge ofCongreso Futuro.[2]
It is an independent close to theParty for Democracy (PPD).[6]
She was appointed asMinister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation by PresidentGabriel Boric on September 6, 2022, replacingFlavio Salazar. She is the first woman to hold the position since the creation of the ministry in 2018.[7]
