Sibunag, officially theMunicipality of Sibunag (Hiligaynon:Banwa sang Sibunag;Tagalog:Bayan ng Sibunag), is amunicipality in theprovince ofGuimaras,Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 23,162 people, making it the least populated municipality in the province.[3]
Sibunag was created by virtue ofRepublic Act No. 7896 on February 20, 1995.[5]
Sibunag is a part of theMetro Iloilo–Guimaras area, centered onIloilo City. It is 52 kilometres (32 mi) fromJordan. Its territory includes the islands ofInampulugan, Natugna, and several other minor islets in theGuimaras Strait.
Sibunag is administratively subdivided into 14barangays. [6] Each barangay consists ofpuroks and some havesitios.
