Semisulcospira is agenus offreshwater snails with anoperculum, an aquaticgastropodmolluscs in the familySemisulcospiridae.[2][3]

Species in the genusSemisulcospira areviviparous.[4]

Ecology

Semisulcospira snails predate also on eggs ofbluegillLepomis macrochirus.[9]

Uses

A bowl of Korean take-outolgaengi (melanian snail)juk.

Semisulcospira snails are used in some forms of cuisine. InKorean cuisine, they are used to flavor a type ofcongee (juk), calledolgaengi juk.
