Sayyid Mubarak Baihaqi (Kashmiri: سيد مبارک بیهقی) was the 23rdSultan ofKashmir[1] as he ascended the throne in February 1579 replacingYousuf Shah Chak.[1] He was dethroned in November 1579 byLohar Khan Chak, restoring theChak dynasty in the monarchy of Kashmir.[2] He also servedAli Shah Chak as hisWazīr[3] which was, after the Sultan, the highest civil office in the Kashmiri government.[4] Sayyid belonged to the Baihaqi family which settled in Kashmir after migrating fromBaihaq.[5]
