Samuel Dias Lino (born 23 December 1999) is a Brazilian professionalfootballer who plays as aleft winger orwing-back forLa Liga clubAtlético Madrid.
Born inSanto André but raised inSão Bernardo do Campo,São Paulo, Lino playedfutsal for a local side before joiningSão Bernardo FC's youth setup in 2016.[2] He made his first team debut with the club on 21 May 2017, coming on as a second-halfsubstitute in a 1–0Série D away win overNovo Hamburgo.[3]
On 28 June 2017, Lino agreed to a loan deal withFlamengo until October 2018, and returned to the youth setup.[4] His loan was cut short in July 2018,[5] and he was assigned to the first team of São Bernardo for the year'sCopa Paulista. He scored his first senior goal on 25 August, netting his team's third in a 3–1 home win overSantos B.[6]
On 30 June 2019, Lino moved abroad and signed forGil Vicente in the PortuguesePrimeira Liga.[7] He made his professional debut with the club in a 3-2Taça da Liga win overDesportivo Aves on 3 August.[8]
Lino scored his first professional goal on 2 February 2020, but in a 5–1 away loss againstMoreirense. Despite scoring only twice and having only five league starts duringthe season, he still renewed his contract until 2024 on 29 July 2020,[9] and subsequently started to feature more regularly inhis second year, netting eleven goals overall.
Lino scored 12 goals in the2021–22 Primeira Liga (which also included a brace in a 3–0 home win overTondela on 8 May 2022), helping Gil Vicente to a fifth position overall and subsequent a historical qualification to the2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League.[10]
On 8 July 2022, Lino joinedAtlético Madrid on a five-year deal.[11]
On 28 July 2022, Lino joinedValencia on a season-long loan.[12]
