TheSaidabad Mosque is amosque inHyderabad, in theHyderabad district of the state ofTelangana, India.[1] The mosque was completed in the early part of the 17th century.
The mosque was commissioned byMir Mu'min Astarabadi.[2] Along with the mosque was a quadrangle with fifty-six rooms. It might have served as acaravanserai, or as lodging for students and teachers of amadrasa.[3]
The prayer hall measures 9.1 by 6.4 metres (30 by 21 ft), and thefaçade contains three arched entrances.[3]
Themihrab is made out of blackbasalt. Over it is an inscription in theThuluth script.AH 1014 (1605/1606 CE) is given in the inscription as the date of the mosque's erection. TheShiadurood is carved on either side of the niche.[4]
