TheRebel Yell Open was aPGA Tour satellite event that played for one year at theHolston Hills Country Club inKnoxville, Tennessee; a 7,009-yard,Donald Ross-designed course opened in 1927.[1][2] The tournament, which was held in April 1968 opposite theMasters Tournament, was organized by tournament director Lonnie Nolan. The title sponsor was thebourbon company of the same name.[1]
It was won by 31-year-oldLas Vegas,Nevada club professionalLarry Mowry in a sudden-death playoff overChris Blocker.[1][3] The winners share was $2,800.[1]
