Penmetsa Ramesh Varma is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter, who works predominantly inTelugu cinema.[1][2]
Born inBhimavaram,West Godavari district ofAndhra Pradesh, Varma finished his B.Com. fromOsmania University and began his career as publicity designer along the footsteps of his father P. Prasad Raju, who was then working as a sketching artist at Eenadu Colorama,Ramoji Film City.
After completing hisgraduation in 1998, he designed poster ads under his firm named "Kiran Poster Ads",[3] with his first filmPreminchukundam Raa (1998). He was also a publicity designer for the filmsNarasimhanaidu,Tagore,Jalsa,Robot, and theBollywood filmsKuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein, andHum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain.
Varma directed a filmOka Oorilo (2005) starring actor Tarun. His next film as a director wasRide (2009) followed byVeera (2011) with Ravi Teja, andAbbayitho Ammayi (2016).[4] He wasscreenwriter for Havish Koneru's7 (2019) followed by Bellamkonda Srinivas' suspense thrillerRakshasudu (2019).[5][6][7][8][9][10]
He produced two films as well:Jaffa (2013), andSeven in 2019, and has penned story for filmMallepuvvu.
