Pyershamayski District orPieršamajski District[2] (Belarusian:Першамайскі раён;Russian:Первомайский район) is anadministrative division of the city ofMinsk, the capital ofBelarus. It was named afterMay Day, also known as International Workers' Day.[3] As of 2023, it has a population of 231,906.[1]
The district is situated in the north-eastern area of the city and borders withSavyetski andPartyzanski districts.
TheNational Library of Belarus is located in the district. Its octagonal structure is present in the coat of arms. InChelyuskinites Park the "Children's Railroad" is located.
The district is served by theMaskoŭskajasubway line. It is also crossed by theMKAD beltway .
