Theprokineticin receptor is aG protein-coupled receptor which binds the peptide hormoneprokineticin. There are two variants each encoded by a different gene (PROKR1,PROKR2).[1] These receptors mediate gastrointestinal smooth muscle contraction andangiogenesis.
