Plešivec (Hungarian:Pelsőc,German:Pleissnitz) is a largevillage andmunicipality in theRožňava District in theKošice Region of middle-easternSlovakia.
Inhistorical records the village was first mentioned in 1243. Before the establishment of independentCzechoslovakia in 1918, Plešivec was part ofGömör and Kishont County within theKingdom of Hungary. From 1938 to 1945, it was again part ofHungary as a result of theFirst Vienna Award.
Thevillage lies at analtitude of 218 metres and covers anarea of 62,142 km².It has apopulation of about 2440 people.
The village has apetrol station and aguesthouse. It also has a number of quality medical facilities including apharmacy, a doctors surgery and outpatient facilities forchildren andadolescents. The village also has a commercialbank, aninsurance company and acashomat.
