Pherecydes of Leros (Ancient Greek:Φερεκύδης) was, according to theSuda, an ancientGreek historian from the island ofLeros, who lived "before the seventy-fifth Olympiad" (480–477 BC), and wrote three works:OnLeros (Περὶ Λέρου),OnIphigenia (Περὶ Ἰφιγενείας), andOn the Festivals ofDionysus (Περὶ τῶν Διονύσου ἑορτῶν).[1] Although, the Suda considers them separately, he is possibly the same person asPherecydes of Athens.[2]
