Petrus Särkilahti (a.k.a.Pietari Särkilahti, sometimes written asPetrus Saerkilahti; died 1529) was aFinnish student ofMartin Luther and one of the early pioneers of teaching science in theFinnish language. He spread the idea of the religiousReformation eagerly.[1][not specific enough to verify]
InTurku,Finland, Särkilahti metMikael Agricola, who became his student. In 1538, the first known books written entirely inFinnish were published by Agricola. Agricola therefore became called by manythe father of the written Finnish language.
