Pecten is agenus of largescallops or saltwaterclams,marinebivalvemolluscs in thefamilyPectinidae, the scallops. This is thetype genus of the family.

Etymology

The namePecten is from the Latin word for acomb orrake.[3] Since 1904, aPecten shell has been used as the basis of the logo ofShell energy company.
