Anatomical terminology |
Theparoophoron (of Johnson;pl.:paroophora) consists of a few scattered rudimentary tubules, best seen in a child, situated in thebroad ligament between theepoöphoron and theuterus.[1] Named for the Welsh anatomist David Johnson who originally described the structure at theUniversity of Wales,Aberystwyth.
It is a remnant of themesonephric tubules[2] and is homologous to the maleparadidymis.
