The Outlaw Saloon is the largest bar in theU.S. state ofWyoming with an approximate 26,000square foot.[3][4] It is renowned for hosting variouscountry music concerts notably during theCheyenne Frontier Days.[5] In more recent years, the venue began hostingcombat sports events such asmixed martial arts,boxing, andkickboxing.[6][7]
On November 7, 2020, the Outlaw Saloon hosted the historical match betweenBurmese-Canadian world championDave Leduc defending hisLethwei world title against AmericanCyrus Washington in Cheyenne, Wyoming.[8][9]Wyoming being the first state to legalize the art ofLethwei, the Outlaw Saloon was the chosen venue to host the first-ever Lethwei fight as well as the first Lethwei world title fight held in theUnited States in themillennia-old history of the sport originating fromMyanmar.[10][11][12] The event was sanctioned by theWorld Lethwei Federation in partnership with the Wyoming Combat Sports Commission.[13]
In 2003, the Outlaw Saloon, previously namedCowboy South Bar, was the last known location of Shawny Lee Smith, the victim of an unsolved homicide case.[14]
