Osame Sahraoui (Arabic:أُسَامَة الصَّحْرَاوِيّ; born 11 June 2001) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aleft winger forLigue 1 clubLille. Born in Norway, he plays theMorocco national team.
Growing up in Hauketo IF, Sahraoui joinedVålerenga's youth system in 2014.[2] Steadily advancing in the junior ranks, he signed his first professional contract in May 2019,[2] then made his senior debut in June 2020 against Stabæk, where he provoked a penalty kick that equalised the match.[3] In July 2020, he signed a contract extension which runs until 2023.[4] On 26 July 2020, he scored his first goal for the club in a 2–0 win againstStrømsgodset.[5]
On 31 January 2023, Sahraoui signed a three-and-a-half-year contract withEredivisie clubSC Heerenveen.[6] He made his debut for the club the very next game on 4 Februari againstFC Utrecht which resulted in a 1–0 defeat.[7]
On 1 August 2024, FrenchLigue 1 clubLille announced the signing of Sahraoui on a five-year contract.[8]
Born inNorway, Sahraoui is ofMoroccan descent. He was previously called up to a training camp for Morocco youth national teams.[9]
On 8 October 2021, Sahraoui gained his first cap for theNorway U21 in a match againstCroatia.[10]
In August 2023, Sahraoui received his first call-up to theNorway senior national team by head coachStåle Solbakken, for afriendly match againstJordan and aUEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match againstGeorgia.[11]
On 30 August 2024, Sahraouiswitched nationality to instead represent theMorocco national team.[12] He debuted with Morocco in a 4–02025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win overCentral African Republic on 15 October 2024.[13]
He was born and raised inOslo, where his parents moved to from the city ofBni Bouayach in northern Morocco.
Sahraoui's uncle,Mohammed Fellah, is a former professionalfootballer.[14]
