One Night Only was shot onMarcos Highway inAntipolo[2] during an August weekend.[3] One of the lead actresses,Katrina Halili, was hired for the first time to work with writer-directorJose Javier Reyes.[3] She signed the contract on July 22, 2008, to appear in this as well as in a remake ofMiss X.[3] On August 13, 2008,Diana Zubiri andIya Villania joined the cast, replacingRoxanne Guinoo andAngelica Panganiban.[4] That day, director Reyes wanted to replaceDiether Ocampo, while still keepingValerie Concepcion andJoross Gamboa.[4] A month before its release, the film had already some controversy surrounding its cast.[5]
