Novyi Kalyniv (Ukrainian:Новий Калинів,IPA:[noˈwɪjkɐˈlɪniu̯]ⓘ) is a small city inSambir Raion (district),Lviv Oblast (region) ofUkraine. Novyi Kalyniv hosts the administration ofNovyi Kalyniv urban hromada, one of thehromadas of Ukraine.[1]
The population of the city is4,243 (2022 estimate)[2]. Local government — Novyi Kalyniv city council.[3]
The city was built in 1951, as a military settlement for the Soviet airbaseNovy Kalinov. It received the status of a city in 2005 (Resolution of theVerkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 2686-IV dated June 21, 2005).[4]
