Novi list (lit. 'New paper') is the oldestCroatian dailynewspaper published inRijeka. It is read mostly inPrimorje-Gorski Kotar County ofCroatia, but it is distributed throughout the country.[2]
Novi list had the distinction of being the only Croatian daily newspaper which kept a critical distance from the government ofFranjo Tuđman during the 1990s.[2] In 2016 it was acquired by the Slovakian JOJ Media House.[3] Prior to the acquisition, it was considered a centre-left newspaper, but has since shifted its position to represent centre-right values, and became the only major Croatian newspaper which is very uncritical towards the last few Croatian government cabinets held by conservatives.[citation needed]
