Buppha Devi derives fromPali wordspuppha (បុប្ផា), meaning flower, anddevi (ទេវី), meaning goddess. The name is also romanised as "Bopha Devi" or "Bophadevi".
Buppha Devi finished her high school education at Lycée Preah Norodom in Phnom Penh.
