Norefjell is amountain range in theScandes Mountains system inNorway. It stretches between the valleys ofEggedal (west) andHallingdal (east). It covers parts of the municipalitiesFlå,Sigdal, andKrødsherad, all in the countyBuskerud.[1]

Norefjell Ski Resort is analpine ski resort located in the municipalityKrødsherad. It is about one and a half hours drive north ofOslo. Norefjell was host to thedownhill andgiant slalom competitions of the1952 Winter Olympics.
The Norefjell mountain range is named after the old farmNore (seeNoresund). The last element isfjell meaning 'mountain'.[4]
