Norefjell is amountain range in theScandes Mountains system inNorway. It stretches between the valleys ofEggedal (west) andHallingdal (east). It covers parts of the municipalitiesFlå,Sigdal, andKrødsherad, all in the countyBuskerud.^[1]

The highest peaks within the mountain range are:

• Gråfjell, 1,468 m (4,816 ft)^[2]
• Høgevarde, 1,459 m (4,787 ft)^[3]

Norefjell Ski Resort is analpine ski resort located in the municipalityKrødsherad. It is about one and a half hours drive north ofOslo. Norefjell was host to thedownhill andgiant slalom competitions of the1952 Winter Olympics.

The Norefjell mountain range is named after the old farmNore (seeNoresund). The last element isfjell meaning 'mountain'.^[4]
