TheQG engine is a 1.3 L (1,295 cc), 1.5 L (1,497 cc), 1.6 L (1,597 cc) and 1.8 L (1,769 cc)straight-4piston engine fromNissan. It is alean-burn aluminumDOHC 4-valve design withvariable valve timing and optionalNEO Didirect injection.
The QG engines were designed by Nissan'sAichi Kikai division[1] inJapan.
Nissan websites state the QG as standing for "Quality and Green".[2]
The QG13DE is a 1.3 L (1,295 cc) DOHC 16-valve with 4-cylinder. It produces 87 hp (65 kW) at 6000 rpm and 130 N⋅m (96 lb⋅ft) at 4400 rpm.Bore x Stroke= 71 mm × 81.8 mm (2.80 in × 3.22 in)
It is used in the following vehicles:
Water-cooled straight 4cylinder engine with 1.5 L (1,497 cc) capacity and DOHC control. Bore and stroke are 73.6 mm × 88 mm (2.90 in × 3.46 in). Output is 90 hp (67 kW) at 5600 rpm and 128 N⋅m (94 lb⋅ft) at 2800 rpm and later 105 hp (78 kW) at 6000 rpm and 143 N⋅m (105 lb⋅ft) at 4400 rpm.
This engine is used in:
Power outputs for N16 Almera:
The QG16DE is a 1.6 L (1,597 cc) straight 4-cylinder engine withdouble over head camshafts with 16 valves. The cylinder head also featuresNissan Variable Cam Timing (N-VCT) and micro-polished camshafts. A new water pump assembly has been designed for the QG16DE; the design is based on the water pump from theGA16DE, the changes made it more efficient and reliable than its predecessor. The engine produces 88 kW (118 hp) at 6000 rpm and 165 N⋅m (122 lb⋅ft) at 4000 rpm. Bore and stroke is 76 mm × 88 mm (2.99 in × 3.46 in).
Specifications
It is used in the following vehicles:
The 1.8 L direct-injectionQG18DD produces 130 hp (97 kW) at 6000 rpm and 174 N⋅m (128 lb⋅ft) at 2800 rpm.
It is used in the following vehicles:
The 1.8 L (1,769 cc)QG18DE was designed for Nissan byAichi Machine Industry,Japan. It is manufactured both inJapan and theMexican city ofAguascalientes. Bore and stroke is 80 mm × 88 mm (3.15 in × 3.46 in). The engine is tuned to achieve most of its torque at low revs at the expense of raw power at high revs, making the engine very responsive in day-to-day driving. It has a cast-iron engine block, aluminum DOHC cylinder head, usesMulti-port fuel injection, forged-steelconnecting rods, two single-piece cast camshafts and a cast-aluminum intake manifold. It also featuresN-VCT (Nissan's Valve Timing Control technology). This engine received theRJC Technology of The Year Award of 2001.[3]
