Tetronarce fairchildi, commonly known as theNew Zealand torpedo, is aspecies ofelectric ray of thefamilyTorpedinidae found only aroundNew Zealand, at depths of between 5 and 1,100 m.[1] This species is placed in the genusTetronarce.[2]
In June 2018 the New ZealandDepartment of Conservation classified theT. fairchildi as "Data Deficient" under theNew Zealand Threat Classification System.[3]
