TheNew Zealand rough skate,Zearaja nasuta, is askate of the genusZearaja, found aroundNew Zealand at depths between 10 and 1,500 m. Its length is up to 1 m.[2] This species has been assessed by theIUCN as ofLeast Concern.[1] In June 2018 the New ZealandDepartment of Conservation classified the New Zealand rough skate as "Not Threatened" with the qualifier "Conservation Dependant" under theNew Zealand Threat Classification System.[3]
