This was apilot for an unsoldWestern series.[2] These characters were first introduced in the theatrical feature of the same title in 1966, and before that in 1964'sThe Carpetbaggers. Potts and Greene had the roles played earlier bySteve McQueen andBrian Keith (in the namesake movie) and byAlan Ladd andLeif Erickson inThe Carpetbaggers.[2]
