Edmond Roche (1929 – 11 October 2004), known asNed Roche, was an IrishGaelic footballer who played for club sidesClonmel Commercials andKnocknagoshel and at inter-county level with theTipperary andKerry senior football teams.
Roche first played Gaelic football at club level withKnocknagoshel before transferring to theClonmel Commercials club.[1] His performances with the latter resulted in a call-up to theTipperary senior football team, however, he declared for theKerry senior football team in advance of the1953 Munster Championship. Roche won the first of fourprovincial championship medals that year before ending the season with anAll-Ireland title after a defeat ofArmagh in thefinal. After defeat byMeath in the1954 All-Ireland final, he claimed a second winners' medal after lining out at full-back in Kerry's defeat ofDublin in the1955 All-Ireland final.[2][3]
