Nathaniel W. Garner (born January 18, 1985) is an Americancollege football coach and former professionalfootballoffensive lineman who mostly playedtackle.[1] He is the head football coach forNorth Greenville University, a position he has held since 2025.[2] He began his career with theUniversity of Arkansas before being selected by theNew York Jets as the seventh round pick of the2008 NFL draft.[3] Nate was eventually traded to theMiami Dolphins, where he spent the remainder of his professional playing career.[1]

Early life and college

Nate attendedPulaski Robinson High School (later renamed Joe T. Robinson High School) just outside the city limits ofLittle Rock, Arkansas. Throughout his early high school career, Nate got selected for the PrepStar All-Region IV Team.[4] He was ranked as the Number 138 offensive lineman prospect in the nation byInsiders.com.[4] Following graduation from high school, Nate enrolled into theJ. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, and later got accepted into the University of Arkansas where he played offensive line for the Razorbacks football team. Nate's most common position throughout the entirety of his high school, college, and professional playing career was offensive tackle.[1]

In 2007 Nate had graduated from both the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciencesmajoring inSociology, and the University of Arkansas with aBachelor's degree also in Sociology.[1]

Professional career

Soon following graduation, Nate was selected by theNew York Jets as the seventh round pick in the2008 NFL draft.[1]

Toward the middle of his professional career, Nate was traded to theMiami Dolphins and played for them until 2018.

Soon after leaving the Dolphins, he became an NFLvolunteer assistant coach and scout for theNew Orleans Saints later that year.[1]

Coaching career

Following his seventh and final year of playing in the NFL, in 2018 Nate later became an NFLvolunteer assistant coach and scout for theNew Orleans Saints. Afterwards, Nate became an offensive line assistant at his alma mater. He later returned toFlorida as an offensive line consultant withRoyal Palm Beach High School. Nate is now anoffensive line coach for both theSt. Thomas Aquinas High School inFort Lauderdale, andASA College'sMiami campus where he also ended up working as a run game coordinator during the remainder of the 2019–2020 season. Nate also helped lead the St. Thomas Aquinas High School football program to a state championship near the same time.[1]

Personal life

Nate has become a licensed amateur radio operator with the callsign NG2A. Nate obtained his first license in 2021.[5]Nate is married to his wife, Tiffany.
