Natalia Cooper (born 9 November 1984[citation needed]) is an Australian reporter and television presenter.
Cooper is currently a news presenter and reporter on9News Perth. She has previously been weather presenter onToday,Weekend Today,Seven News Perth and a reporter on9News Sydney.
Cooper studied journalism atCurtin University.[1] She began her career in television in Perth in 2003 after she was offered a cadetship atSTW after she graduated.[citation needed] She worked as the station's weather presenter and fill-in news presenter for five years onNine News Perth. She presented her first weather bulletin at age 19, and her first news bulletin at 20.[2]
Cooper travelled the world for 6 months at the end of 2008 and then worked as a freelance journalist before moving to London in 2009. She came back to Perth to take up the position asSeven News weather presenter uponJeff Newman's retirement.[3]
In 2012, she relocated to Sydney and began working as a reporter for Nine News Sydney.[1]
In June 2013, Cooper replacedSylvia Jeffreys as New South Wales reporter onToday. She remained as a reporter onToday until March 2014.[citation needed] She also filled in as weather presenter onNine News Sydney whenAmber Sherlock went on maternity leave in the same year.[citation needed]
In January 2015, Cooper replacedEmma Freedman as weather presenter onWeekend Today. She remained in the position until November 2016. In December 2016, she swapped places withSteven Jacobs, who moved toWeekend Today to spend more time with his family,[4] and became the weather presenter onToday.[5]
In February 2019, upon returning from maternity leave, Cooper was redeployed toNine News as a presenter and reporter.[6]
In November 2021, it was reported that Cooper would return to Perth with her family and continue as a senior reporter withNine News.[7]
In March 2016, Cooper married music producer, Carl Fox.[8]
In September 2018, Cooper announced that she was pregnant with her and her husband's first child.[9] She gave birth to a son named Ezra (who was named afterEzra Koenig, the lead singer of US indie rock bandVampire Weekend) in January 2019. Immediately after his birth, Ezra was placed in special care due to checks revealing he was born with fluid on his lungs.[10]
