Naphtali Lau-Lavie (sometimes Naphtali Lavie) (1926 – December 6, 2014) was an Israeli journalist, author, and diplomat.[1]
Lavie's entire family was murdered during theHolocaust, with the exception of his younger brother,Yisrael, whose life he saved in theBuchenwald concentration camp, and who would later become theChief Rabbi of Israel.[2]
Lavie served as a spokesman forMoshe Dayan,Shimon Peres, andYitzhak Shamir. In 1981, he was appointed Israel's consul-general inNew York City.[1]
Lavie was the author of several books.[3]
