NGC 6685 is anelliptical galaxy in theconstellation ofLyra. Its velocity with respect to thecosmic microwave background is 6432 ± 37 km/s, which corresponds to aHubble distance of 94.87 ± 6.68Mpc (~310 millionlight-years).[1] It was discovered by American astronomerEdward Swift on 29 May 1887.[2]
