Myron Gardner (born May 21, 2001)[2] is an American professionalbasketball player for theOsceola Magic of theNBA G League. He playedcollege basketball for theGeorgetown Hoyas, theSouth Plains Texans and theLittle Rock Trojans.
Gardner initially attendedLoyola High atDetroit, Michigan, before transferring to SPIRE Academy inGeneva, Ohio, where he averaged 18 points, finishing third on the team and was ranked 283rd nationally by 247Sports.com.[3]
Gardner began his college career atGeorgetown, where he played in eight of the first nine games of the 2019–20 season, averaging 3.1 points per game and after being accused in a civil complaint by a Georgetown student of assault and burglary, he transferred toSouth Plains[3] where he averaged 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.[4] He ended up settling the case off-court.[3]
After one year at South Plains, Gardner transferred toLittle Rock, where he averaged 13.2 points, 9.1, rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.8 minutes as a senior. He was the team's leader in rebounds and steals while being second in points, assists and minutes and third in both three point (35.6%) and free throw percentage (75.5%). He also was second team All-Ohio Valley Conference after leading the OVC with 15 double-doubles, tied for the second-most in a year in program history and was tied for eighth nationally while ending the regular season ranked 16th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game with 6.97, being 24th in total rebounds with 274 and 31st in rebounds per game, ranking second in the OVC in each category.[5]
After going undrafted in the2023 NBA draft, Gardner joined theOsceola Magic on November 2, 2023,[6] wher he played in 47 games and averaged 5.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 15.4 minutes.[7]
In July 2024, Gardner joined theOrlando Magic for the2024 NBA Summer League[8] and on September 11, 2024, he signed with the team.[9][7] However, he was waived on September 19[10] and eight days later, he joined theOsceola Magic.[11]
