Monoamine receptor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Theserotonin5-HT1B receptor as an example of a monoamine receptor.[1] Itscrystallographic structure inribbon representation.

Amonoamine receptor is areceptor for themonoamine neurotransmitters and/ortrace amines,endogenoussmall-moleculesignaling molecules with amonoaminestructure. The monoamine receptors are almost allG protein-coupled receptors, with theserotonin5-HT3 receptor being a notable exception as aligand-gated ion channel.[1] Monoamine receptors are thebiological targets of manydrugs; such drugs may be referred to as "monoaminergic".

List of receptors
