Milad Mohammadi Keshmarzi, known asMilad Mohammadi (Persian:ميلاد محمدی کشمرزی; born 29 September 1993) is an Iranian professionalfootballer who plays forPersian Gulf Pro League clubPersepolis and theIranian national team.

Known for his speed and versatility, Milad plays as aleft back andwinger. His twin brotherMehrdad plays forEsteghlal in thePersian Gulf Pro League.

Club career

Rah Ahan

Milad Mohammadi joinedRah Ahan in the summer of 2014 with a five–year contract[4] and made his debut for them in the first fixture of the2014–15 Iran Pro League againstEsteghlal.[5]

In July 2015 Mohammadi went on trial withAustrian Bundesliga clubSturm Graz.[6] He reportedly had two offers from European sides but Rah Ahan coachFarhad Kazemi refused to let him leave the club.

Akhmat Grozny

On 6 February 2016 Mohammadi signed a contract withRussian Premier League clubTerek Grozny until 2019.[7][8] Milad made his debut for Terek Grozny as a substitute on 2 April 2016 in a 3–2 win overAnzhi Makhachkala.[9] Mohammadi scored his first goal for Terek and his first ever professional league goal on 29 April 2017 in a 5–2 victory againstUral Yekaterinburg. After the 2016–17 season, he was named as one of the top 50 U23 Asian talents to watch for.[10]

On 27 May 2019, Akhmat confirmed that Mohammadi left the club as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract.[11]

Gent

In July 2019 Mohammadi signed withBelgian clubGent.[12]

He was one of the key players of the team in many matches and had an acceptable defensive performance. Although he was effective in attack and was able to help the team with scoring important goals.[13][14]

AEK Athens

On 17 September 2021, Mohammadi signed a three-year contract withSuper League Greece sideAEK Athens after getting released fromGent on 25 August.[15]

Adana Demirspor

On January 26, 2024, Iranian international footballer Milad Mohammadi completed a transfer to Turkish clubAdana Demirspor. The signing of the 2.5-year contract was announced by the club, solidifying Mohammadi's commitment to Adana Demirspor until the summer of 2026. The transfer was reported by various sports news outlets, includingFootballi.[16]

The move came as part of Adana Demirspor's efforts to strengthen their squad for the upcoming seasons. Mohammadi's experience as a left-back and winger, coupled with his international experience with the Iranian national team, was seen as a valuable addition to the team's lineup. He left the club on 19 August 2024.

Persepolis

On 20 August 2024, Mohammadi joinedPersian Gulf Pro League sidePersepolis on a two-year deal.[17][18][19]

International career

Mohammadi scored a goal during the2016 AFC U-23 Championship.[20]

Carlos Queiroz invited Mohammadi to a national team camp in June 2015. He made his debut againstUzbekistan in a friendly match on 11 June 2015 and was on the bench on 16 June 2015 in aWorld Cup qualifier againstTurkmenistan.[citation needed]

He was named in Iran'ssquad for the2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia,[21][22] where he came to prominence when he tried and failed at an extravagantthrow-in, in the 93rd minute while Iran were trailing 1–0 toSpain.[23]

Personal life

Milad Mohammadi was born south of Tehran in Fallah district, however he has said that he is a native of Qazvin.[26] His family is originally fromQazvin Province. He was born in a family ofIranian Azerbaijani, hailing from the village ofKashmarz. Football fans in Iran nicknamed him "Mig-Mig" that refers to a cartoon character named Roadrunner inWile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.[27] He is the twin brother ofMehrdad Mohammadi.[28]
