Michael Avon Oeming is anAmericancomic book creator, both as an artist and writer.

Career

Oeming is a fan of ancientmythology, having written or drawn several projects centering on theNorse gods.[citation needed] He frequently collaborates with long-time friendBryan J. L. Glass and withBrian Michael Bendis. He is part of the M.O.B. crew of comic book creators, along withDavid Mack, Brian Bendis and Daniel Berman.[citation needed]

His 1998 comic bookBulletproof Monk was made into afilm of the same name.

The previous mentioned collaborations areThe Mice Templar fromImage Comics, which he draws and co-authors with Bryan J.L. Glass,[1] andPowers fromIcon Comics which he draws, and sometimes co-authors, with Brian Bendis. His creator-owned projects includeRapture, on which he collaborated with his wife, Taki Soma,[2] andThe Victories, both forDark Horse Comics.

As of 2010, he was employed as a staff member ofValve, working onLeft 4 Dead,Team Fortress 2 andPortal 2webcomics.[citation needed]

Personal life

Oeming has a son, Ethan and currently resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife, fellow writer/artist Taki Soma.[3]
