TheMethacton School District (MSD) is apublicschool district located inMontgomery County, Pennsylvania, in thePhiladelphia metropolitan area. It is headquartered in the Farina Education Center inWorcester Township.[1][2]
Thisschool district includes residents in the townships ofLower Providence (including thecensus-designated places ofAudubon,Eagleville andTrooper) and Worcester (including the area ofFairview Village). The district was created in 1961,[3] as a consolidation of other school districts, with the merger process completed in 1969.[4] The superintendent is Dr. David Zerbe.[citation needed] The name of the district is aword in a Native American language that refers to the area hill.[4]
Seven schools comprise the district:
Audubon Elementary School was scheduled to close in 2017.[5]
