McGonigle is anunincorporated community in northwesternHanover Township,Butler County,Ohio,United States[1] about seven miles northwest ofHamilton at the intersection ofU.S. Route 27 andState Route 130 in sections 17 and 18 of R2ET4N of theCongress Lands. It was formerly a stop on theCincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton Railroad's Indianapolis branch.[2] It was named for Philip McGonigle, an early settler,[3] and is spelled in various ways (McGonigle is the spelling on the official Butler County highway map).
