Matthew Joseph "Matt" Ludwig (born July 5, 1996) is an Americanpole vaulter.[1]

Biography

Ludwig is a native ofOhio, where he attendedLake Catholic High School.[2] He attended theUniversity of Missouri before transferring to theUniversity of Akron where he graduated in 2019 with a degree in biomedical engineering.[3]

Ludwig was originally an alternate on the three-man U.S. Olympic pole vault team at the2020 Tokyo Olympics, but subsequently competed as an Olympian after bronze medalist and reigning world championSam Kendricks tested positive forCOVID-19 and was declared out of the Tokyo Games.[3][4]
