Marmelade (French pronunciation:[maʁməlad]ⓘ;Haitian Creole:Mamlad) is acommune and formerduchy in theArtibonitedepartment ofHaiti. It is the chief town of theMarmelade Arrondissement, which also includes thecommune ofSaint Michel de l'Attalaye.
Marmelade is the home town of PrésidentRené Préval.[2] During the years following his first tenure, Préval initiated rural development projects in Marmelade, including a manufacturer ofbamboo furniture.
