Markku Aro (Finnish pronunciation:[ˈmɑrkːuˈʔɑro]; bornMarkku Tuomas Puputti on 3 February 1950 inMouhijärvi,Finland), is a Finnish singer who represented Finland in theEurovision Song Contest 1971 inIreland with the pop-duoKoivistolaiset [fi]. They appeared with the song "Tie uuteen päivään" ("Road to a New Day").[1] He has released many albums in his country and was awarded with theIskelmä-Finlandia prize forschlager music in 2017.[2]
