Mandela's Gun is a 2016South Africanbiographical film ofNelson Mandela's experience as a guerrilla fighter for theAfrican National Congress. It was directed byJohn Irvin and shot inSouth Africa.[1][2][3][4]

Nelson Mandela is portrayed by newcomerTumisho Masha, who soon after the film's release was arrested on charges of "intent to cause grievous bodily harm" and "malicious damage to property."[5]
