Malcolm McNulty (born 7 December 1951) is an English rock musician, best known as a vocalist withHazzard, bass player then vocalist withSweet, and as a former vocalist and guitarist withSlade from 2005 to 2019.[1]
McNulty was born inLiverpool in December 1951. He joined German heavy rock bandHazzard in 1984, which had been formed byHerman Frank, formerly ofAccept, and recorded their debut albumHazzard.[2] In 1985, he was invited to joinSweet, where he played bass before taking over vocals, recording the albumsLive at the Marquee,A andAlive & Giggin'! as well as the singles "X-Ray-Specs" and "Stand Up".[3] He left the band in 1994. During his time with Sweet, he also collaborated on the side project Paddy Goes to Holyhead withAndy Scott (also of Sweet), releasing the singles "The Green Green Grass of Home" and "Delilah" in 1987.[4] He also played session bass and sang backing vocals for NorwegianOle I'Dole onThis Ole Town.[5] In 2005, he joinedSlade on vocals and guitar, taking over from Steve Whalley.[6]
