Magec (Guanche BerberMa-ɣeq, 'possesses radiance' or 'mother of brightness'[1]), inTenerife,[2] was a deity in the ancientBerber mythology. Magec was god or goddess (actual gender is unknown) of theSun and light and is thought to be one of the principal divinities in theGuanche religion. According to legend, Magec was captured byGuayota and held prisoner insideTeide before later being liberated byAchamán.
