Loma de Cabrera is the second largest city in the province ofDajabón, Dominican Republic. It is located in the northwest portion of the country, in theCibao region.
The river namedDajabón, also known as Masacre, runs through Loma de Cabrera. The same river separates the city ofDajabon fromHaiti. Loma de Cabrera has a very popular river falls called "Balneario El Salto", which is a very popular tourist place for Dominican residents.[3]
Loma de Cabrera is the birthplace of well-known merengue artistFernando "El Mayimbe" Villalona,[4]Rafael Furcal, the former Major League Baseballshortstop, the poetCristino Gómez, painterJuan Andújar, and baseball outfielderJulio Rodríguez.
On November 16, 2020, Mayor Michael McPartland of theBorough of Edgewater NJ, proclaimed aSister City relationship with Loma De Cabrera[5]
